NOVEMBER 2025 - Online Shopping It's our last month of workshops for 2025 and as we head into the festive season, we’ll take a look at Online Shopping and payments.

___ OCTOBER 2025 - Digital Legacy + Get Online Week Our topic for October is 'Digital Legacy'
Something everyone needs to think about and plan for... it often isn't thought about and left for family to deal with. The background for this is to make sure all learners are thinking about how they are managing things like photos, passwords and setting up legacy contacts on their phones and social accounts like Facebook. Our workshops will cover:- What is Digital Legacy and why is it important- Examples of Digital Assets- Steps to take for Digital Legacy Planning including a review of Cloud services and legacy settings on your mobile device- We'll also take a look at platforms like Facebook in relation to setting up legacy contacts. Be Connected: How to prepare your Digital Legacy Plan Also search the topic library for 'Cloud' (though some content is a bit old! so think about your own use of Cloud / how you backup things like photos etc.) NOTE: I have some personal commitments so will be unavailable at the following sessions and BIG thank you to the mentors who are covering in my absence. Gosford 2nd & 16th - thank you Colin! Toukley 7th - thank you Louise! Note - we only have one session at Toukley due to Get Online Week, so Louise will cover Social privacy settings and we'll look at Digital Legacy in November. Kanwal 9th - thank you Steve! I'll be at both sessions at Ettalong however Colin will be leading these on Digital Legacy.
___ SEPTEMBER 2025 - Apps Our topic for September...
There's an app for that! We'll look at: - Google Play Store and the Apple App Store - What to look for when searching for and choosing an app - Installing new apps and deleting ones you don’t need - Arranging and managing apps on your smartphone. We'll also look at some great examples of apps to make life easier. There is a lot of content on Be Connected for Apps. ___ AUGUST 2025 - Passwords
Our workshops this month will cover:
- The importance of strong and secure passwords- The difference between Passwords and Passkeys- Password Managers available on a smartphone (Apple 'Passwords' app & Google Password Manager) - what they are and how to use them.

Mentor Upskill Session 3-7-25 Password Management slides Please see above for the slides from the Digital Mentor Upskill session. Password Management will be the workshop topic for August so please familiarise yourself with your own password managers in preparation. Digital Skills Review - please complete this form if you were not able to attend the upskill session. This is to replace the Digital Mentor Skills Checker (Good Things has advised it isn't currently working properly!) and will help guide the upskill and workshop program.
___ JULY 2025 - Finding what you want with Google Search
Attendees will learn how to:- Perform a basic Google Search- Understand how Google displays search results- Perform a reverse image search including Google Lens - Download and use the Google App

___ JUNE - Core digital skills recap 1. Recap of some of the core skills we’ve learnt so far this year with some fun activities and prizes. 2. Learners to complete the Digital Skills Check - Progress
